Dear Friends,
It is with great joy that I share wonderful news with you today. After a season of prayer, careful discernment, and a thorough search process, the Board is delighted to announce the appointment of Hilton Edwards as Chief Executive Officer of Focus on the Family Australia.
Hilton’s journey with our global ministry family began two decades ago, when he served as Communications Director for Focus on the Family Africa in the early 2000s. For the past eight years, he has served as CEO of Bible League Australia and New Zealand, where God shaped him through servant leadership, building healthy team cultures, and forging strong partnerships with Christian radio stations across the nation.
Hilton would like to share with you:
“I am deeply humbled and blessed to step into the role of Chief Executive Officer for Focus on the Family Australia. My heart’s desire has always been to see families strengthened, parents and marriages thriving, and homes built upon a strong Biblical foundation. Returning to this global family of ministries truly feels like coming home.
As I step into this new season, I do so with an absolute dependence on God. My prayer is to humbly serve you, our team, and the countless Australian families who look to us for guidance. Please pray with us as Focus on the Family Australia steps into all that God has called us to in this season.“
Hilton and his wife Liezel live in Queanbeyan, NSW, where they are active members of Hope Christian Church, and Hilton serves as a volunteer pastor. He is also a proud father to two adult children, Bianca and Dylan, and a grandfather to one grandson, with a second grandson expected in July.
As we welcome Hilton, we also want to express our deep gratitude to Josh Reid, who has so faithfully served as Acting CEO over the past five months. Josh stepped into this role with humility and a steady hand at a pivotal moment, and his prayerful leadership has kept Focus on the Family Australia moving forward with strength and unity. We are delighted that Josh will now return to his role as Chief Operating Officer, where his gifts will continue to bless the ministry alongside Hilton. Thank you, Josh – your servant heart has been a gift to all of us.
As we turn this page, we do so with great anticipation for what God has prepared. We are confident that the Lord is preparing a fresh and hope-filled season for marriages, parents, and families across Australia, and we look forward to all that God will continue to do through Focus on the Family Australia in 2026 and beyond.
We warmly invite you to pray for Hilton and Liezel as they step into this new calling, for Josh as he continues serving in his COO role, and for our Board and staff as we together pursue God’s vision of seeing Australian families thrive in Christ.
