Today, Dorie continues her powerful testimony. A teacher noticed her plight and reported her desperate and abusive living situation. As a result, Dorie had to appear in court and endure the humiliation of having her biological mother promise to get rid of her if she was forced to take custody. She went to work in a doctor’s home and through his help, found her father. That didn’t work out, because he disapproved of her faith in God. She eventually met her husband-to-be in Bible college and they went on to serve as missionaries in New Guinea. On the return trip from the mission field, they stopped in England, where Dorie got to see Queen Elizabeth, but the Lord assured her, that was nothing compared to meeting the King of Kings.
